Spring

I am thankful for... ...the sights and sounds of spring. Beautiful bluebonnets, birds chirping, and gorgeous weather for walks on the greenbelts. ...the best visiting teachers ever. They probably aren’t as excited to see me as I am to see them, but it sure is nice to have a scheduled chat with these sisters every month (I always need it!). ...roses and chocolate from one of the aforementioned visiting teachers. Just what a girl needs :o) ...t hree Mondays in a row with Darren at home! His new job didn’t start until Tuesday, so it was nice to have an extra long weekend with him home. ...nap time with my two little loves. It’s been so nice that we’ve all been napping at the same time. ...my first venture out with the children by myself. We went to the library and the bank and it was a successful trip (only a few tears in the car on the way there). And when Lila misplaced the DVD’s she chose to check out, miraculously there was a second copy of both the movies she had picked (tha...

My three loves

This week I was thankful for... ...a wonderful husband. I love how bringing a new baby into the world has brought us closer together. ...a healthy baby who eats and sleeps well. ...a mother-in-law, who despite my post-partum moodiness, served me and my family without complaint. ...my beautiful little girl, who was my first baby. I missed her while her grandma was here; she was obviously still here at home, but I missed taking care of her. I’m grateful that she was able to spend so much time with her grandma and have grandma take care of her, but I’m so glad I get to be her mommy. ...warm Spring weather and daylight saving time! I love that we're back to the time of year where we can go to the park as a family after dinner.  ...the Ensign magazine and inspired words from our Latter-Day leaders.  ...all the time I'm spending feeding my new baby, which gives me the opportunity to get in some more reading (mostly from the aforementioned Ensign and lesson bo...

Sometimes Blogger irks me // Newborn photos of baby

On Sunday evening I started writing my usual Sunday blog post.  I did this on my new iPhone 4S, which I had never done before, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that my blog post got lost. Boo. I was going for a perfect record of 52 weeks of "counting my blessings" posts. Now I will have to be satisfied with 51. I think I will still give some highlights from last week: Having Darren home all last week.  Darren's mom arriving last Wednesday. She's been a great help, and most especially with Lila. We will be sad when she leaves tomorrow. Watching Lila enjoy spending time with her Grandma T.  Darren's new job! He accepted an offer from another local company and is pleased to be switching to a job that will be more enjoyable for him (iOS development...he gets to work on a Mac again!!). Recovering quickly and feeling great; I even made it to church on Sunday. Finally finding gelato in Austin! We went downtown to buy my new iPhone, so we made an adve...

One big blessing

I'm keeping it simple this week. One of the biggest blessings in my life came this past week; nothing more needs to be said :o)

The long version & his name

I started working on this post on Wednesday, but I've been sick with a cold and desperately trying to get rest, so here it is Friday and I'm finally finishing it up! Monday morning I woke up with a sore throat and a cough. I thought I had escaped getting sick like Darren and Lila, but I wasn't feeling great so I slept in until 9am. Me and Lila hung out at home resting all day Monday. I spent so much time on the couch in the living room that I started sketching and making decorating/rearranging plans for the living room. I pinned curtain and art ideas on Pinterest and started pricing out my plans. When a friend invited Lila over for a play date on Tuesday, I started making plans for hitting up the craft store and beginning my living room makeover the next day. After Darren got home and we got Lila to bed, I found some energy and began rearranging the living room and straightening up the house. Then at 10:30pm I decided to do a short yoga practice, took a shower at 11, ...
