This is from about two weeks ago--she's managing to stay awake for tummy time now!
Well, last week consisted of two midterms, a sick husband, a baby who refused to sleep in her bed, a talk in sacrament, and a stressed out mommy who didn't get to go to her yoga classes. Darren started feeling sick just over a week ago, but last Monday he thought he was feeling a little better. On Tuesday he was feeling so bad that by 3:00pm I ended up taking him to urgent care. We thought it was the flu, and so did the doctor when he looked at him, but the swab test indicated that it was a strain of adenovirus. We were told that he was contagious, so all week Darren didn't touch Lila to make sure she didn't get sick. Of course I thought it was a good idea for him not to be holding Lila, but it sure made things even harder for me! Thankfully Darren's parents are around usually after 8 or 9 pm, so I had some help in the evenings. It sure was hard during the day all week to take care of both Lila and Darren. Lila decided this week that she wasn't going to stay asleep unless she was in my arms or in bed with me. She also wanted to be held almost constantly! If I had nothing better to do I would gladly hold my cherubic baby in my arms to her hearts content, but unfortunetly I had midterms this week! Darren was supposed to be my babysitter while I took my tests, but obviously that didn't work out. My sweet Aunt Liz was kind enough to help out and babysit Lila for my first midterm and I was very thankful. As for speaking in sacrament, both Darren and I had been asked three weeks ago to speak in sacrament yesterday. Darren's illness got him out of speaking, but not me! I spent Saturday night preparing my talk since I hadn't prepared it earlier (when will I ever learn to stop prorastinating??). My topic was missionary work, which I wasn't too excited about until I called up my brother who just got back from his mission in the DR last Thursday. Matt helped me out with some ideas for my talk and it actually ended up going really well. So, as bad as I felt the week was I had lots of people who helped me out aaaaaaaand Lila giggled her first real giggles yesterday!!! It was sooooo cute and only I saw and I didn't get the video camera fast enough! Hopefully I'll get some laughs on camera soon and post them here :o)
