I have been quite the slacker in regards to this blog lately. I write blog posts in my head all week, but my pillow has been taking precedence over the keyboard in my evening "free time."
I finished my Financial Management class on Feb 21st (just 3 days before the deadline!), then two days later we were off to California for 8 days. Darren's been working on an app that had its big reveal at the TED conference in Long Beach, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring the whole family and go visit with my sisters. And little Walt had his first birthday while we were there! We celebrated with a trip to Disneyland.
I got sick just before we left for Cali (the kids passed it on to me), and I was unfortunately sick the entire trip. It was basically a regular old cold, but the first couple days I could hardly talk and the whole week I had a difficult time sleeping. We got back to Texas and just in the last couple of days I've finally gotten over whatever cold and allergies I'd been dealing with. So yeah, March came in like a lion and is going out like a lamb, in regards to my health this month.
I have been so unbelievably tired! Last weekend I went to bed at 8:30 on a Saturday night and didn't get up until 7:30am (I "woke up" a time or two to feed Walt, but just slept through that). Another night the week before, I went to bed at 9:30....I usually don't get into bed until almost midnight and get up with the kids at 7:30. I'm thinking that a schedule change for myself may be in order. I'll let you know how that goes; I am married to a night owl, after all!
Anyway, we had an uneventful Easter at home today. I made a turkey breast that was awesome thanks to Ina Garten's easy recipe. Walt was super active today and even climbed into the dishwasher as I turned my back to put the last clean dish away. I couldn't pull him out until I got a picture of that, of course :) I went for a short 2 mile run, which seemed appropriate because the last time I went for a run was the last time I made a turkey (Thanksgiving...yeah, months ago). Surprisingly, I beat the pace of my last run by more than 30 sec/mile. I'll have to credit the 30 Day Shred and Wednesday night yoga class at the gym with that! Oh yeah, and i finally got brave/confident and did a headstand! Now i just need to do it away from the wall, and next learn a handstand :)
Anyway, some day I will do some catch up posts with more details and pictures, but for now here's just a few Instagram pics from the last little while.
