What we've been up to

Hiking Graduation Visiting great-grandfather An art lesson from great-grandma June Darren's grandma June has always been an artist. Until about a year ago she was living in her own home and doing pretty good. She's almost 94 now and she's lost the use of her right hand and she lives in a nursing home now. This hasn't stopped her from using her pastels. She taught herself to use her left hand and she's done some pretty impressive artwork. Lila was lucky enough to receive one of her pastels of a horse which will soon be put in her bedroom.

Seeing my face on other people's blogs

A couple of weeks ago I went to a local gathering of Etsy sellers and other local artists. It's a twice yearly event called Bijou Market and it's really awesome. It's held in a historic building in downtown Provo and there are so many talented vendors selling handmade items. I went intentionally for the earrings and the art work, and I found just what I was looking for. I even went on both Friday and Saturday because I couldn't get enough. Anyway, while I was there I had my portrait taken by an amazing local photographer who was taking photos of all people at the market. So now you can find a pic of me on her site and also the site of Peach Pink Cakes who were giving out free mini cupcakes, mmm mmm. Check out their blogs for the eye candy besides myself :o) Pink Peach Cakes: Spring Bijou Market 2011 : "Friends, if you missed the Bijou Market , you truly missed out!
