The New Quests of The Turetzky Family

The last few days I have been trying to remember to give Lila some tummy time. Well, the picture shows just what happens when I give her tummy time...she falls asleep! What a little cutie! I'll have to remember next time I'm having a hard time getting her to take a nap to put her down for some tummy time :o)

Last night we went over to my Uncle Rob's house to visit with his family and a couple of my other cousins, one of which was visiting from California. My two youngest cousins, Tracee (6) and Allie (4), had the opportunity to meet Lila for the first time and they just adored her! Allie is the baby of Uncle Rob's family and she was so cute with Lila. She was very big sisterly, showing Lila her pink Care Bear, singing her lullabies, and admiring Lila's tiny hands. We of course took the opportunity to snap some pictures--hope you enjoy them!

Friday morning we had rain. I was ecstatic that it was raining and the snow was starting to melt...until I found one of the windows in the basement overflowing the snow melt onto the living room floor. Fortunetly, I found the leak relatively soon after it started, so there wasn't a whole lot of wet carpet. We pulled up the carpet, took out the soaked portion of carpet pad, and turned the fan on to dry out the mess. Just when we thought we had recovered from the flood, Saturday at about 10pm I found that the window was leaking again! Once again we sopped up the water and continued running the fan. Then a couple of hours later, just after midnight, I found that the window in our bedroom was also leaking!!  Just as we were getting ready to go to bed last night we had to clean up the mess in our bedroom and move our bed and Lila's bed into our spare bedroom. We finally went to bed at 2am, but had to get up at 9 to get to stake conference this morning. We officially had a nightmare,...

For the last week and a half Lila has been waking up at about 9:00 am and she's all smiles. Since she's so wide awake, I take the opportunity to eat some breakfast while she plays on her playmat. Her Grandpa Turetzky hadn't left for work yet one morning this week, so he took some pictures of little Lila happily on her play mat. The next night Darren and I were having a snack with Lila sitting between us on the couch. She really loves to sit upright like this right now. She even fell asleep this afternoon while sitting on the couch in the same position. After she fell asleep I put her in the sling and started playing the Wii fit. Here's a couple of pics of Lila and I playing the Wii fit ski slalom game :o)

Today was Lila's 2 month check up. That meant time for the first rounds of vaccinations. She was quite a trooper. She cried of course, but once I picked her up after the shots were given she calmed right down. She fell asleep on the car ride home and stayed asleep for nearly an hour in her car seat. She was a little cranky for the rest of the afternoon, but we napped together and she rode around in the sling while I did laundry and fixed dinner, so it really wasn't too bad. Her stats today were: Weight - 12 lbs. 4 oz. (85th percentile) - Height - 24" (96th percentile)- Head circumference - 39.5 cm (59th percentile). Happily, she is healthy and growing normally :o)

Our baby Lila is two months old today. She is growing up before our very eyes! Never before have two months of my life flown by so quickly. It's bittersweet...I am happy that my sweet baby sleeps 5-6 hours a night now, but sad that she's already growing bigger and outgrown her newborn size outfits. It seems like just yesterday none of those outfits even fit!! I guess that's why people have more babies :o)

You might notice that I started this blog back in April of last year...there was only one post for the entire year. I became a little intimidated about blogging once I started looking at my friends and family members super cute blogs...so I kept saying I would get around to figuring it out. Well, today is the day that I am going to do this!! I have to say that my inspiration comes from the hours of "blog stalking" I have been doing since Sunday. To all those out there who get caught up looking at the blogs of long lost friends and family, add mine to the list!
